Air Conditioner Odor Eliminator Service

Many vehicles have unpleasant interior odors caused by condensation build up in your air conditioning system allowing mold and bacteria to accumulate and be released into a cars passenger compartment. In addition the dirt, water, smoke and spills build up and cause bad odor in the upholstery and carpet of the vehicle. Whatever the source, unpleasant odors create an unpleasant driving environment.

Odors from the air conditioning system can be traced to the moisture in the air that condenses in the evaporator core when the air conditioning system is operating. The evaporator itself is chilled by the refrigerant that passes through it, and when the vehicle’s fan blows air through the evaporator core, chilled air enters the passenger compartment. The cold surfaces of the evaporator also condense moisture in the air, creating a damp, dark environment that is a perfect breeding ground for odor causing microorganisms.

When the air conditioning system is operated, odors from these microorganisms are also blown into the vehicle’s interior with the cold air. The severity of the odor problem can vary according to climate, with warm, high humidity areas having the most odor problems. Unpleasant interior odors can also result from smoking, spilled food and beverages, baby accidents, dirty clothing and gym bags, pets and vehicle leaks that allow moisture to wet the carpeting. Adding a scented mirror hanger only masks the odor, and often does a poor job. Simple, scented sprays are similarly designed to merely mask odors in the air and do nothing to address the actual odor at the source. As such, these are only temporary and often inadequate remedies for odor problems.

Auto Solutions AC System Cleaner is formulated to remove odors at their source. This odor treatment is applied to the entire air conditioning (and heating) system using special equipment. With the vehicle’s doors and windows cracked, engine on, A/C on, temperature setting turned to hot, fan on high and the system on out side air, the product is drawn into the air conditioning system where it can address the odor at the source, in the evaporator. The cleaner fills the vehicle’s interior and is exposed to all vehicle surfaces that might also be the source of odors, including the upholstery, carpeting and headliner.
